Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

The book of Proverbs is called the book of wisdom. If you have ever had the opportunity to read and study this book, it provided you with many tools to help you with life.
It is our nature as human beings to not trust anyone until they have proven themselves to be trustworthy. In other words they have passed our testing system. God is telling us to trust in Him no matter what we see or hear.
In the year 2011 I was diagnosed the stage 2 colon cancer. When the doctor told me I was numb. My mother had colon cancer and had gone on to be with the Lord. So here I was facing the same battle of cancer. I remember asking the Lord why me.
Then I heard myself answer and say why not me. I knew there was nothing I could do but trust in God that He would pull me through this dreadful illness. So I rested in the Lord, I let myself go and fell into His arms.
I am sure you may have seen or took part in a trust exercise. In this particular exercise, a person is blindfolded asked to cross their arms over their chest and fall backwards. There is a person standing behind them to catch them, thus breaking their fall. I used this exercise and fell into the arms of the Lord. If I was going to get through surgery and chemotherapy I knew in my heart it would only be by trusting in God and His word.
So here I am today in the year 2020, nine years later cancer free. Whatever you may be facing in this season I want to encourage you to trust in the Lord. Fall into His waiting arms and know that He has you as well as your situation. I would sing the song written by Reverend C. L. Franklin “I will trust in the Lord until I die.” Make it your declaration today to trust Him with all of your heart! Psalms 91:2 says I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God in Him will I trust.
